Ferris Bueller Sequel of the Day: So the Ferris Bueller “sequel” that was teased last week has been unveiled in full, and it’s… an ad for Honda starring Matthew Broderick as himself.
But it does pay homage to Ferris Bueller, which is something? And it does do a great job at selling something: The certainty that no one should ever try to make a Ferris Bueller sequel.

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off;
Ferris: The key to faking out the parents is the clammy hands. It’s a good non-specific symptom; I’m a big believer in it. A lot of people will tell you that a good phony fever is a dead lock, but, uh… you get a nervous mother, you could wind up in a doctor’s office. That’s worse than school. You fake a stomach cramp, and when you’re bent over, moaning and wailing, you lick your palms. It’s a little childish and stupid, but then, so is high school.
John Hughes’ commentary: The closer he looks at the child, the less he sees…The more he looks at it, there’s nothing there and I think he fears that the more you look at him, the less you see there isn’t anything there. That’s him.
Re-Cut Trailer of the Day: Ferris Bueller’s Day Off re-cut as a Sofia Coppola-esque indie coming-of-age film.
